Description

This session will be a moderated panel discussion covering end-to-end aspects of translational biomaterials research with an emphasis on entrepreneurship and commercialization experiences in developing medical products.

Panelists will share stories related to translating biomaterials from the lab to the clinic, including topics focused at the intersection of material science, machine learning, and manufacturing. The panel will also highlight how business acumen in securing investors, leveraging government and other support sources, and building your team impact translational outcomes.

In a 1 hour session, the first 30 minutes would focus the discussion on predetermined questions for the panelists, and the second 30 minutes would focus on discussing questions from the audience. The panel is expected to include, but is not limited to, an academic entrepreneur, a clinician, a non-profit contract researcher, a commercial entrepreneur, and a regulator.
