Sarah Mayes, PhD is Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer at Alafair Biosciences, a commercial-stage medical device company based in Austin, Texas. Alafair’s flagship product, VersaWrap Hydrogel Sheet, is a natural-polymer, bioresorbable hydrogel based on licensed technology that Dr. Mayes developed while earning her PhD. Previously, Dr. Mayes worked at Ford Motor Company for seven years where she led alternative fuel applied research efforts. She earned an MS degree in Material Science & Engineering from The University of Michigan and a PhD and BS degree in Biomedical Engineering and Chemical Engineering, respectively, from The University of Texas at Austin.
