Industry Rising Star Award Competition

This 1.5 hour session will be an industry research-focused competition for all young scientists currently employed at a non-academic, non-government position in industry (must have completed terminal degree from 2013-2023). Participants should submit a CV/Resume, in addition to a 1-page abstract (following SFB guidelines) that specifically emphasizes how their research advances the state of the field/industry that they work in and supports the translation of biomaterials to the clinic/market. This abstract can be adapted from the participant’s submitted conference abstract or can be an entirely new piece of work. The top 6 submitted abstracts – evaluated by a panel of industry scientists based on the impact of the candidate’s research on their respective industry, translational value, and the accomplishments of the candidate – will be selected to compete in this session at the conference. Finalists will present an 8-minute talk, with 2 minutes for Q&A.
