2025 Call for Ideas

2025 Call for Program Ideas

The Society For Biomaterials is excited to host the 2025 Annual Meeting at the Hilton Chicago on April 9-12, 2025. The theme for the SFB 2025 Annual Meeting is Half a Century of Progress: Crafting Resilience in Mind & Matter!

The 2025 Program Committee is requesting input from all SFB members about sessions they would like to see at the 2025 Annual Meeting. Please complete this form to submit any ideas, suggestions, or considerations.

The deadline to submit is July 1, 2024.

The Planning Committee is especially interested in sessions that are pertinent to the industry and will explore the very latest new and emerging field of biomaterials research in the many disciplines that participate in the SFB Annual Meeting including, but not limited to, ideas that involve breakthroughs in biomaterials science, translation of basic research to clinical application, next generation medical devices, and content that explores standards development, regulatory issues and commercial realities.

Special Interest Groups are encouraged to submit ideas jointly with other SIGs or with industry partners to create the most stimulating and interesting sessions for all attendees.

A two-stage proposal process will be used to select session topics for the 2025 meeting:

1. The Program Committee will review the Call for Ideas submissions. Those that align with the overall programmatic objectives (as outlined above) will be invited to submit full proposals. The Program Committee may suggest that organizers with similar ideas work together to submit a single proposal. Full proposals will be due in August.

2. Full proposals will then be reviewed by the Program Committee and those accepted will be included in the call for abstracts. The abstract deadline will be scheduled for early to mid-Fall. Only after the abstracts have been reviewed can the Program Committee make the final determination that any one particular session will be included in the final program.

Session selection for the final program will be based on the overall quality of abstracts submitted to the session. Some sessions with fewer submissions may be combined to improve the overall quality of the meeting.
